Friends Group
The Friends of Snape Wood Nature Reserve and Ashton Park, known as the Friends of SWAP or simply SWAP, was set up in March 2009 to meet three main aims :
- Create a secure environment in which everyone can enjoy the benefits of the facilities in Ashton Park
- Enable and encourage informal and formal activities for those of all ages who live and work in the neighbourhood
- Promote and encourage the protection, conservation and sympathetic enhancement of the Nature Reserve by way of good environmental practices

This is currently made up of three local residents

History of the group
The Ashton Park project was already very well-established but following a meeting in February 2009, a verbal agreement was made to expand the remit of that project to include the future management of Snape Wood Nature Reserve.
The group was formally constituted on 26 March 2009.
