Join Us
Would you like to support the Friends of SWAP by becoming a member ? It’s free to join (small donations welcome but not obligatory !).
We aim to send out newsletters regularly to our members to keep them up to date with what we’re doing. As the group develops we aim to hold events at both Ashton Park and the Nature Reserve, have merchandise for sale at vast cheapness for our members, run members only competitions and more besides. And our members will be the very first people to hear about our news !
There are three types of membership, namely:
- FULL MEMBERSHIP
Any person aged 18 or over, living or working in Snape Wood or the surrounding area who supports the aims of the group. Full members can vote at our annual general meetings.
- AFFILIATED MEMBERSHIP
Any group or organisation that supports the aims and objectives of the Friends of SWAP. Affiliated groups may have one voting representative at annual general meetings.
- ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
Any individual supporter who supports the Friends of SWAP but who is not eligible for full membership, usually those under the age of 18. Associate members cannot vote at meetings.
Volunteering
Any voluntary help you can give is gratefully received, with a variety of duties such as :
- patrolling the park and reserve regularly
- picking up litter
- making, erecting or monitoring nesting boxes for birds and mammals
- making, erecting, refilling or monitoring feeding stations for birds and mammals
- laying hedgerows, repairing fencing, scrub clearance, general maintenance of reserve

Please do get involved – the more members we have, the more we can make both Ashton Park and Snape Wood Nature Reserve sites to be proud of, and give a sense of ownership to the Snape Wood community.
